Sunday the 4th of September will be an official practice day. Each State will compete against another State on each day. The selection process for the team to represent Queensland is underway. Arm Bowlers seeking selection are encouraged to complete the Expression of Interest form, now available on the app or website.
MODIFIED AND CHANGES TO ARM BOWLING DEVICES – CLARIFICATION
Close examination of the Bowls Australia Policy for Artificial Devices reveals that modification to Bowling Arms requires approval from Bowls Australia. Bowlers found to have modified their device without approval can be penalised. If you have made a any modification to your bowling arm, speak to your Club Secretary about the process for gaining approval from BA.
APROVAL TO USE AN ARTIFICIAL DEVICE (BOWLING ARM)
Bowlers and Clubs are reminded BA Policy for Artificial Devices requires anyone needing to use an Artificial Device (Bowling Arm) to apply in writing to their governing State Body. A Medical Certificate stating that the applicant requires an Artificial Device to continue to play Lawn Bowls must accompany the application. The Policy states that anyone using a bowlers arm without approval becomes a defaulting player as per law 1.3.3 and will forfeit the game.
In fairness to all bowlers, Club Secretaries and Games Directors are requested to ensure their members using a Bowling Arm have been approved.
